Busy Day - But The Sun Came Out For a While!

I bought some great veggies at the U-District farmers market today :) It did seem like a lot of the various farmers had the same selections....greens, carrot bunches, peas, turnips-that kind of stuff. I did find some delicious-looking tomatoes though. Plus I got cherries and sharp cheddar. I wish I had enough money to buy seafood.....that would make my tummy happy.

I also went to Pike Place to find some locally-made pasta. I found some, but it was a bit out of my budget so I only bought one package. I might also see what the Pasta & Co. store at University Village has in a few days. It would be nice to eat more than just fruits and vegetables next week!

Finished up the day by buying a few more veggies at Trader Joe's - I'm not sure if they are all from 150 miles or less away, but I didn't see them at the U-District farmers market....so I'm settling with organic...

I'll also state that when I do cook my meals next week, I'm going to use the spices/seasonings/sauces that I already have, which are probably not *local* exactly....and I'm still going to drink coffee.

My next post will be on my first day of the eat local challenge, which will be Monday, July 5th.
